Style Description: Unlike many other fighting styles, this style seeks to maintain a balance in physical development. As a balanced style, the idea is to have more stamina and strength than the swift, more speed and stamina than the strong, and more strength and speed than the hardened. To increase the speed, stamina, and strength of the staff wielder, the practitioner focuses ki into different parts of their body to add increased effectiveness.

There are 6 basic hand positions on the bo. (Note these are not stances) 1) hold the bo, the hands being a shoulder's width apart in the middle 2) hold the bo in the center, both hands being close together and touching 3) hold the bo on the end, one hand being on one end, the other hand being a hands breadth away from the first hand 4) hold the bo one hand being on the end the other hand being in the middle of the first third of the bo 5) hold the bo the hands close together, even touching in the center of the first fourth of the bo 6) hold the bo one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo.




Style Basis: Weapon Based - Staff Style (Spears, rods, anything that is over six feet in length and that can be gripped in the middle)



Regular Techniques:

Name: Ki Focus Description: The user focuses ki into the spear. This amplifies the strength of the bo and of the attack.

Name: Joushou Tsuki (Rising Moon) Description: The user raises their Bo above them in second position, and jumps high into the air. While going upwards, the user begins to spin quickly, so that the Bo can hit an above or falling enemy.

Name: Shinseki Taiyou (Dipping Sun) Description: The opposite of Joushou Tsuke. The user must jump from a high place, and spin downwards.

Name: Ryuudan Mamori (Dragon Protection) Description: Hold the bo in first position, the hands being a shoulder's width apart in the middle of the bo. Focus ki into the bo and kneel down, holding the bo horizontaly. Move the bo as necessary to block. This move blocks most attacks coming from above, it does not block ranged attacks.

Name: Tora Mamori (Tiger Defense) Description: Hold the bo in first position, the hands being a shoulder's width apart in the middle of the bo. Focus ki into the bo and kneel down, holding the bo Vertically. Move the bo as necessary to block. This move blocks most attacks coming from the sides, it does not block ranged attacks.




Name: Bou Chouyaku Atemi (Pole Leap Strike) Description: Hold the bo staff in sixth position, one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo, and focus ki into the bo staff. Put the bo point end into the ground and push off with ki. Flip once in the air and swing straight down with the force of the flip onto one opponent, making sure to come out of the rotation of the flip before hitting the ground. Focus ki into the bo before striking the opponent for maximum damage.

Name: ki no Supia (Energy spear) Description: Hold the bo staff in the sixth position, one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo. Focus ki through the bo staff into the hitting end and create a concentration of ki. Thrust the bo straight towards the opponent. This attack does as much damage as a razor sharp spear would.

Name: Atemi no Kuriva (Cleaver's Strike) Description: Hold the bo in fifth position, the hands close together, even touching in the center of the first fourth of the bo. Focus ki into the bo and swing down onto the opponent. Those with natural strength of 20 or more may actually perform this as if they were wielding a sword. (IE they can cut things).

Name: Shinkou Ryuu (Dragon Attack) Description: Hold the bo in sixth position, one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo. Focus ki into the bo. Swing the bo sideways and at a downward angle while standing. Attack the legs of the opponent at the knees. This often knocks the opponent down.




Name: Tate no Bo (Bo Shield) Description: Hold the bo in second position, holding the bo in the center, both hands being close together and touching. Focus ki into the bo and into the arms. Spin the bo like a propellar on the side of the body where protection is desired. This blocks most ranged weapons.

Name: Tsuppari no Yari (Lance jab) Description: Hold the bo staff in the sixth position, one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo. Focus ki through the bo staff into the hitting end and create a concentration of ki. Focus ki into the feet and legs. Sprint at the opponent, lowering the bo like a jouster's lance, and aim for the heart, head, or chest. This attack should pierce all the way through most opponents.

Name: Ryu Kokuou Chikuden (Dragon King Flight) Description: A basic yet effective attack. The user simply throws his or her Bo at the opponent. It is very dangerous when it hits and it could pierce through muscle and flesh. Ki is focused into the Bo to increase speed and accuracy as well as make the bo return to the thrower’s hand.

Name: Atemi no Joushou (Rising Strike) Description: Hold the bo in fourth position one hand being on the end the other hand being in the middle of the first third of the bo. Focus ki into the bo. Swing the bo from ground level to the level of the opponents head.




Name: Shinkou Tsuchi Ryuu (Earth Dragon Attack) Description: While laying prostrate on the ground hold the bo in third position holding the bo on the end, one hand being on one end, the other hand being a hands breadth away from the first hand. Focus ki into the bo. Spin the body and swing the bo towards the opponent. This is useful to surprise attack an opponent while on the ground. Due to the spinning motion of the body this is usually followed by a series of kicks as well.

Name: Kazu Kazu Sen Ichigoki no Tora (Many Thousand Hits of the Tiger) Description: Hold the bo staff in the sixth position, one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo. Focus ki into the bo, shoulders, arms, and hands. Swing the bo quickly to one side until an opponent is hit, then swing to the other side until an opponent is hit. Continue doing this until all opponents within the length of the bo have been hit or knocked down. Breathe deeply as the body gets dizzy from this attack.

Name: Suramu no Joushou (Rising Slam) Description: Hold the bo in fourth position one hand being on the end the other hand being in the middle of the first third of the bo. Focus ki into the bo and concentrate a great amount on the striking end of the bo. Thrust the striking end of the bo into the opponent's chest or stomach and lift the bo from ground level to the level of the opponents head. Slam the opponent into the ground. This is all done very quickly.

Name: Tengoku no Suramu (Slam of Heaven) Description: This is used on an opponent jumping or falling down from above the head. Hold the bo in fourth position one hand being on the end the other hand being in the middle of the first third of the bo. Focus ki into the bo and concentrate a great amount on the striking end of the bo. Thrust the striking end of the bo into the opponent's chest or stomach as they fall to stop their momentum. Slam the opponent into the ground head first.




Name: Tora no Sen (Tiger Lance) Description: Hold the bo staff in the sixth position, one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo. Focus chakra through the bo staff into the hitting end and create a concentration of chi. Focus that chi into the very end of the bo, causing it to hum softly. Thrust the bo straight towards the opponent. This attack does a great amount of damage, imagine being hit by a 75 mph sledge hammer.

Name: Ude no Wari (Arm's Breaker) Description: Hold the bo in the first position, the hands being a shoulder's width apart in the middle. Focus ki into the bo, shoulders, arms, and hands. Swing the bo with lightening speed attacking the one arm. This attack is designed to strike the bone of the arm and shatter it.

Name: Nami Jiten Raishuu Description: The user once again spins with Bo outstreched, but becuase of the increase of speed and power, the attack creates a short wind blast, of about three feet around, that can move objects, and hinder attackers.

Name: Hishou Yaiba (Flying Blade) Description: With the bo pointed forward in front of the user, the shinobi leaps forward, slashing quickly with the bo. Due to the chi focus in the bo, the weapon actually may cut as severely as a finely sharpened blade. In addition, this attack should knock back any opponent it hits.

Name: Ryuudan Tora no Bo (Dragon Tiger Bo) Description: Hold the bo in the first position, the hands being a shoulder's width apart in the middle. Focus ki through the bo staff into the ends of the bo staff and create a concentration of chakra. Focus that chakra on the very ends of the bo, creating a sofy hum, maybe even a blue glow, coming from the tips of the bo. Now, focus ki into the shoulders, arms, and hands. Attack repeatedly with both ends of the bo staff.




Name: Kunai Unkou (Kunai Flight) Description: Hold the bo in the second position, both hands being close together and touching in the center of the bo. Focus ki into one end, holding a kunai with the energy. Focus some ki into the kunai. Twirl the bo and attached kunai arround at great speed. Release the kunai at an incredible speed. The kunai will travel faster this way than if you had thrown it. This takes great practice to be able to aim well. This is a very useful skill to be able to attack first with a bo swing and then with the kunai.

Name: Nibai Kunai Unkou (Double Kunai Flight) Description: Hold the bo in the second position, both hands being close together and touching in the center of the bo. Focus ki into both ends, holding two kunai with the energy, one on each end of the bo staff. Focus some ki into the two kunai. Twirl the bo and attached kunai arround at great speed. Release ki hold from the two kunai at a greater speed than if you would have thrown them yourself. They are fired one after the other.This takes great practice to be able to aim well.

Name: Washi no Nokogori (Eagle's Saw) Description: Hold the bo staff in sixth position, one hand on the end, the other hand in the center of the first fourth of the bo, and focus ki into the bo staff. Put the bo point end into the ground and push off with ki. Flip repeatedly in the air and swing straight down with the force of the flip onto one opponent, making sure to come out of the rotation of the flip before hitting the ground. Focus ki into the bo before striking the opponent for maximum damage. This will either hit or miss. If it hits, it will hit the opponent hard three times.

Name: Tengoku no Niji Suramu (Rainbow Slam of Heaven) Description: Hold the bo in fourth position one hand being on the end the other hand being in the middle of the first third of the bo. Focus ki into the bo and concentrate a great amount on the striking end of the bo. Focus ki in to the upper body and the legs. Thrust the striking end of the bo into the opponent's chest or stomach and lift the bo from chest level up and over the head in a great arch. Slam the opponent into the ground head first. This move really, really hurts the opponent.

Name: Nibai Ude no Wari (Double Arm Breaker) Description: Hold the bo in the first position, the hands being a shoulder's width apart in the middle. Focus ki into the bo, shoulders, arms, and hands. Swing the bo with incredible speed attacking both arms, at what seems to be the same time. This attack is designed to attack the bones of both arms, transferring all damage to the bones in the arms.




'Name: 'Jigoku Makura (Hell's Pillow)

Description: This technique represents the hidden meaning of the Kinkou no Kouten Bo kata. With a pole a person can do anything. A pole is more then just a pole, with a thrust it’s a spear, with a sweep it’s a naginata, when you hold it, it’s a long sword; a staff can become each of those things there are unlimited possibilities. This technique causes the staff to twist and go everywhere as if it is many diffrent types of weapons attacking.



Name Tetsuyari' (Iron Spear)

Description: User launches themselves forward in a sprint, keeping their body low to the ground. This is a Master move; a lethal one that is powerful enough to shove user’s staff through opponent’s chest and explode out their back the instant user hit them.
