The Water Based system involves understanding and re-creating within one's body the flows of torrential and undulating forces, putting this into the user's fists. The Tendo school is "the perfect blend of offense and defense" that uses the strength of the opponent against them, although it has a mix of many styles it has a strong philosophical preference for Aikido. While the Saotome school tends be about defeating the opponent's body, the Tendo school has learned to make an enemy defeat themselves by taking their energy and turning it against them with a little extra thrown in. Users of this martial art can repel the attacks of their opponents or redirect them with twice the power. This means they are unlikely to initiate an attack and most often force opponents onto the offensive where practitioner feels comfortable. However, they can seamlessly switch styles and objectives as circumstance dictated.
