While Ryouga's enhanced Shishi Hokodan retains a primarily concussive nature, Ranma's enhanced ki attack does the opposite route. It does not explode, nor does it hit with great force. It bounces, like a ball, and then adheres to a target. Once on spot, it burns incredibly hot and can not be removed. This is one example among many of Ranma's use of "soft" attacks vs Ryouga's preference for "hard" attacks. If Ryouga's ki attacks are like bombs, then Ranma’s are like incendiary grenades.
