"Relying solely on Martial Arts Theater makes you one of the most naive people I've ever met. It's true that a single weapon can change the tides of a battle, but there will always be somebody your ability doesn't work on. I mean, take me for example. I hone all of my skills and rely solely on my ability to fight. Without the use of advanced techniques, I already extended the space between our energies." — Ransu speaking to Kaori during training.Ransu Kuchiki also known as Lucifer is the main antagonist of the Divine Design arc.
The former Ikōru Nashi of Martial Arts Theater Ransu Kuchiki was considered one of the strongest practitioners the art had seen since its creation he was even able to partially reconstruct Kabukiza an art that had been lost for approximately 400 years after it last saw use in combat during the Battle of Sekigahara. Sadly after his wife and daughter died during child birth he gained an almost finical obsession with completely restoring the Kabukiza style, eventually leading him to betray the organization and take his knowledge with him.
During this time Ransu Kuchiki began extensive research in various religions specifically Christianity, Shinto, and Buddhist. Taking the name Lucifer he combined this unique fusion-style with the Kabukiza specifically the Guardian Deity technique he created Divine Design. Lucifer’s aim was to create a "paradise" using the powers of the Divine Design. In this "paradise", he then hoped to see his family again.
By nature, he's not an evil person; he is a brilliant and philosophical warrior who works diligently to see his family again; however, he is an extremely cold and distant, and has no qualms about using and discarding people to achieve his goals. In other words, he'd do anything to succeed. He takes drastic and extreme measures, by fair means or foul, or by hook or by crook, in order to accomplish his own purpose.
After his defeat by the SNDF he was killed by Kanzaki Kaori.
