The blade becomes a sword designed with a scroll filled with numerous scraps of paper inscribed with a special writing, centering around the kanji for "explode" (爆, baku). Infused with ki, they will explode after a set amount of time, remotely, or after being ignited by flame. The sword has two sides: a narrow blade on one side, and a wide platform on the other. The scroll unrolls on the platform side, with the scroll sliding down the surface. Segments of the scroll come apart, there being one segment on the platform at any time. Once the opponent gets close enough to the platform, the scraps ignite and the segment of the scroll on the platform gets separated and the user moves away from the point of detonation, so that only the opponent gets caught in the explosion. The sword is able to "reload" another segment onto the platform automatically.
